Waterfall visit hiking in the forest on the lava plateau
This hiking tour takes place in the forest on the lava plateau which is made of lava flow from the eruption of Mt. Ontake 54,000 years ago.
On this tour, you will visit three waterfalls in the beautiful forest full of stories with the local guide.

9:00 AM Ichinotorii Gate The first stop is the short visit to the shrine gate which has a lot to do with the story behind the hiking route. |

10:00 AM Gandate Park Start the tour from knowing the outline of Hida-Osaka. |

10:30 AM Mitsudaki Waterfall viewing point The first highlight is Mitsudaki, 22 meters (72 feet) high. We will slowly walk up the stairs along the waterfall. |

11:30 AM An open-air tea ceremony in the forest After Mitsudaki is a hiking route. You will hike up 50 meters (165 feet) until you get on the flat lava plateau. In the gentle breeze of the forest, the guide will entertain you with an open-air tea ceremony. |

12:30 PM Lunch After walking through the flat forest, we will have lunch at Donbikidaira Wetland. ※ Optional lunch set is available upon request at the time of booking with additional cost. |

1:50 PM Akaganetoyo and Karatanidaki Waterfalls We will go to see other waterfalls after lunch. Akaganetoyo and Karatanidaki are another highlight of the tour. ※There is a restroom on the way. |

3:00 PM Back to Gandate Park We will go down the unpaved road back to Gandate Park. |
Gandate Park is located 30 minutes south from Hida-Takayama, and 30 minutes north from Gero Hot Spring by car.

8:40 AM at Hida-Osaka Activity Base (Hida-Osaka Waterfall Trekking Office) → Google Map Free transportation to and from JR Hida-Osaka Station is available for those traveling by public transportation. Please make a request at the time of reservation. |

JPY 22,000 per first 2 people + JPY 8,800 per additional person ※The price includes tax, guide fee, insurance and park maintenance fund. ※This tour is conducted with multiple groups. A private tour arrangement is available with additional JPY 20,000. ※Lunch is not included in the price. Optional lunch prepared by a local shop is available with additional cost upon request at the time of booking. Otherwise, please bring your own lunch.
