A 20-minute drive from Gandate Park, the Neonotaki Waterfall Trail is a genuine mountain hiking path.

It leads deep into the heart of the mountains, offering a course where you can fully enjoy the untouched beauty and charm of a hidden natural paradise.

※During periods of snow or icy conditions, the forest road beyond Gandate Park is closed to vehicle traffic. It is extremely dangerous, so please refrain from using it.

we ask for a contribution of 300 yen per person as an environmental maintenance fee. Please make your payment at Gandate Park.

※Middle school students and younger are free of charge.

If you drive 5.5 km along the forest road from Gandate Park, you will reach the Neō Waterfall Parking Area. The Neō Waterfall Trail starts there, leading to Neō Waterfall via a mountain hiking path.

This trail takes you deep into the mountains, where you can enjoy the serene beauty of lush greenery in spring and vibrant autumn foliage. The trail is well-maintained as a hiking route, but it includes sections with risks of falling or rockslides.

You will also encounter thrilling segments featuring ropes, chains, and ladders to navigate the more challenging areas. It’s an adventurous path for those who enjoy the excitement of mountain hiking.

①Neonotaki(63m)・・・This is the most impressive waterfall along the main stream of the Nigori River, boasting the greatest height difference. Among the many waterfalls in Osaka, it is the only one selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls.

②Amadori wall・・・Like Gandate, this is a lava plateau cliff formed by the lava flow of Mount Ontake. It is named after the rock swallows (Iwatsubame) that nest in the hollows of the rock face during early summer.

※This area is a habitat for bears. To avoid sudden encounters, please take precautions such as making noise. Bear bells are installed at various points along the trail, so please use them.

Neo Parking Area

※It takes about 20 minutes to travel approximately 5.5 km off-road from Gandate Park. On foot, it takes about 1.5 hours.
