Waterfall Trekking
The waterfall trekking tour is Hida-Osaka 200 Falls’ specialty. Out of total more than 200 waterfalls at the west foot of our mother mountain Mt. Ontake, we had selected several waterfalls to make them into trekking tours, and ever since the start of our group in 2006, we have cherished these adventurous tours. Although many of these tour routes are unreachable today because of the recent damages caused by heavy rainfalls and following landslides, there are yet beautiful trekking routes that survived these damages.
Mt. Ontake’s volcanic activities formed the beautiful landscape of Hida-Osaka, including more than 200 waterfalls higher than 5 meters and the lava flow that stretches 17 km, the longest visible lavaflow in Japan.
And here are 2 tour routes you can explore with us. Please note that both tours take place in the wild forests and rivers off the normal trekking path. These routes include wading which special shoes and a helmet during the whole tour. Also, securing ropes are used occasionally.
1. Advanced level

| What to wear |
- Please wear the shirts and pants that dry easily and suitablefor mountain hiking. - Long sleeves and pants are recommended to cover your skin on the wild trail. Additional jacket helps to prevent cold air near the water. - Wading shoes and a helmet will be provided by the tour desk. |

| Cancelation Policy |
- 50 % of the fee will be charged to participants who cancel their tour on the day before the tour date before 5:00 PM. - The full fee will be charged to participants who cancel their tour after 5:00 PM on the day before the tour date. |
| Weather alert |
The Hida-Osaka Waterfall Trekking Office will contact the lead participant by 5:00 PM on the day before the tour date if unsuitable weather is forecasted and the tour is cancelled. The tour could be called off even on the day of the tour or during the tour if the main guide determines that the trail and river conditions are too dangerous to proceed. |
